Carrillo is a laidback beach town, very similar to Samara, but on a much smaller scale. This beach, which has stunning views and sunsets, is a very popular hot spot amongst foreigners and ticos, being one of the best beaches in Costa Rica.
Carrillo long beach in its natural state is bordered with coconut trees, forested hills and cliffs. Its cristal clear waters, the fine white sands, the constant sunshine and a sense of peace are the mayor features of this remote site.
At Carrillo beach you can find some water sports activities such as sport fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving in some stunning marine environments. Swimming conditions are also pleasant in the calm soothing bay, as well as walks along the rocky platforms at low tide where some marine life can be observed, especially in the little tidal pools.
Carrillo is a small fishing and farming community, with a healthy tourist service industry. Here, visitors can indulge in some quality rest and relaxation as distractions are few and noise is minimal.
